Say hello to our new podcast, Let’s Talk About Fostering! Hosted by Faye, it brings together voices from across the Polaris Community to speak openly about the realities of fostering, from the rewards to the challenges, and everything in between.
The first three episodes feature Jo August, our CEO, who grew up in a fostering family and brings over 35 years of professional experience in the sector. We’re also joined by foster parents Alison, a single foster parent, and Theresa, who is accompanied by Jim McGarrigle, Responsible Individual for a number of our fostering agencies.
Throughout the series, listeners will hear authentic stories from foster parents, alongside honest, myth-busting conversations and practical insights into every stage of the fostering journey. The podcast highlights voices from all parts of fostering including those who grew up in fostering households, care-experienced staff, and people who have supported fostering for decades. Together, they paint an authentic picture of what fostering is really like.
